Hello, I'm Crafty

This is what I worked on yesterday. . .

Here is the other side. . .

I took some inspiration from Gigi and her cute packaging art where she sews little bits and pieces with glitter. I also took my title from one of her lo's (Art Girl). I used left overs from a Kenner Road kit, and the badge holder is from a Dozens kit add on. It was fun to sit down and create (after spending mucho time getting our things put away from two weekends out of town!).

My youngest dd is having her 6th bday next week! So I have been brainstorming on her cake and goodies. She decided on cupcakes, so I had to get this. . .

seller: fanciefannies

Isn't she cute? I am thinking of making cupcake toppers using this kitschy digitals kit.
She loves the cherries and strawberries and I think they would make adorable toppers. I ordered a few things from Bake It Pretty (link in my sidebar). I got some edible glitter because she is allll about glitter (like mother like daughter!), and I purchased those magic candles that won't go out right away. Hehehh - I thought it would be fun to capture on the flip. Maybe I'll post the video here if she doesn't get screaming mad! Hoping it will be a nice day on her bday. We love to cook out and light the tiki torches and eat on the patio. She also likes to make smores with the firepit. I love this time of year. The girls have a half day tomorrow and then we're officially on summer break! Yay! =) Hope everyone is having a good week. I'll be back tomorrow with my 5 for Friday post! =)

Fun Finds!

WARNING: Heavy photo post!
Wooo hooo! It's Friday! =D As promised. . .I have taken some pics of my fun finds this week from garage saleing (it almost sounds like a sport, no?) . I assure you - if you weren't convinced before that garage saleing is for you, you will be after seeing my cah-ute finds! Heheh.
Here is a pic of some of my finds in a grouping.

Let's begin with this. . .vintage pyrex. Now I have never been a fan or really noticed these dishes, but this one spoke to me!

I adore the pattern and the color. I will be hounding for these at future garage sales now!

Nestle cups. . .now these bring back memories! My brother and I had these cups as children and they were our "special" cups. You know - the ones that make you feel better when your sick, or you drink it with your special after school snack? I am so happy to have found these (I purchased two).

Vintage Bambi book. My heart jumped a little when I spotted this. I have seen so many people do some fun things with vintage children's books. All the ways I could alter little projects came to mind. Of course I love the illustrations and the text!

This frame. I painted it and already cut out a sweet "Bambi" illustration. This is still a work in progress. I'm not quite thrilled with it yet. Hmmm. When it is finished it will reside in my scrap space, where I love to keep bright colorful and cheerful things that inspire me or make me happy.

Now of course there are the normal garage sale finds like clothes and shoes and fun hair stuff for the girls that I did not take pics of, but I am pretty happy with my finds from last week. =)

THIS is something that I purchased this week. I know I know. . .I am not 12, I am a 31 year old woman. I love these little dolls though! They are called "Momiji" dolls. There are lots of different ones, and they are colorful and funky and have little slips of paper that you can hide in the bottom and write a "secret" message on. Isn't she cute?

Lastly. . .My 5 for Friday!

1. Holiday weekend

2. Going out with Hindles tonight to movie and eat and bike ride

3. Going to Michigan for the weekend to stay at my brother and sil's!

4. Fireworks Saturday (I seriously love to go to fireworks)

5. Summer kick off!

Have a wonderful weekend friends!!

Five for Friday!

Wow. . .has it really been a week already since my last post? It has been busy busy here. Today was wonderful. It was a sunny day and I had a "garage sale marathon". This is a big weekend for association sales around here. I scored some really cool shtuff! I will post pics of my pretties in a bit. Seriously. . .some drool worthy goods. So I began my day with a McD's iced mocha. . .not too bad! I have been presently surprised at the yum factor in those. It helped me wake up and start my day right. Then I got some snacks for the kiddos for the car ride and we were off to all of the lovely sales. Sigh! =) Tonight I'll be helping to take care of hubs because he tragically injured his foot playing softball this week. His foot resembles that of the Pillsbury doughboy. It's so swollen, so we'll probably grab a pizza and redbox flick and stay in. Not a bad way to spend a Fri. night. Now. . .for my 5 for Friday:

1. Garage sale goodies today

2. Did not have to pack lunches today for the girls (I know this seems lame, but I get seriously excited when I get a night off from packing them) They had a fun school festival today and lunch was provided. =)

3. Winter clothes in totes finally, and Summer clothes in drawers

4. Flip flops

5. Kalahari this weekend - Yay!

Today the new challenge is up for Scrapping Across the Universe
Be sure to check it out. . .Julie is sponsoring and she has a sweet prize up for grabs, not to mention the challenges really get the mojo going. I have loved every one so far. Here is my take on this one:

Loved seeing everyone's creations from this last one! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. . .and I'll be back with more pics of my finds later. =)

Five for Friday!

So this is a little late in the day. . .but better late than never, eh?

1. We just booked a cruise with the Hindles, our best friends! Yay!! Oh and did I mention sans kids?? ;-)

2. Another one of my lo's made it to the twopeas top10!

3. Just started a "fairy garden" with my girls. . .our new summer project. SOOooo fun and excited about this one. Got a cute little gnome and some 'lil mushroom stakes. I'd like to get one of these little doors to prop up against a rock or the fence

NothinButWood
This is an example of what it could look like - isn't it the cutest?

4. Picnic at the park tomorrow with our family and some friends

5. Expecting this fun kit in the mail! Can't wait to play with that stencil and the sprays!

Leavin' you with a silly pic inspired by flickr (only their's is much better. . .my girl wouldn't stay still!) Hehehh.

Have a fantastic Mother's Day to all my readers and friends who are mommies and who are celebrating their mommas! =)

Congrats Ayesha! Contact me at sunnydaze222@hotmail.com with your info! =)
Scrapping Across the Universe has a new prompt up now! Check it out. . .there is a great prize up for grabs with fun vintagey goodies! Here is my take on the challenge. . .

close up of journaling. . .

I used the beautiful Noel Mignon "Lovely Day" kit for the layout (which is now sold out). Man does she pack those kits to the brim with goodies. She also included candy which I think is a nice touch (of course!). Did everyone have a great NSD weekend? I did not get to scrap at all. =( I was so busy with the resale, but I look forward to getting some crafting done this week. Happy Monday!
